Training

While I was pregnant with our third child my husband decided we should join a gym. I thought great not sure how much I can do but they have 2 hours of child care. So I started by doing a routine of running and some machines until I was to big and sore and then did the aqua class. I had to take 12 weeks off after having Carter because that's how old they have to be to enter the child care. I have now been back at it for almost a year again.
I am a person that likes routines and schedules. I build my week schedule and try to stick to it. Mondays and Wednesdays are my typical cross training gym days. If I have time I run Tuesdays and Thursdays and then use Friday as a recovery or pilates day. I always long run on the weekends. I am a person that likes early morning runs. With the kids sports schedule I've had to become a little more flexible on the weekends.
As I was working out this morning I smiled knowing that my body is getting stronger. I know it's not an overnight thing for sure. It's a slow process.
I had someone ask me last night after our run what my diet is. Honestly I don't have one. I try to eat healthy. I believe everything in moderation. This morning I had an overnight oatmeal but then got a skinny flat white from Starbucks after the gym. I don't want to make myself avoid certain things while training or really any other time if I want it. Though I did stand and stare at all the amazing looking cakes and cheesecakes in Target. I kept walking and didn't take one home.
It's all about balance. Life in general is. I don't let training or working out consume my life. I try to let it enhance it. I also try to take the time to stretch and foam roll after my workouts because I know how important it is.
