positive thoughts

Trying to think back to this past week and what all went on. Monday I got a massage and it felt amazing. Anyone that is having leg pain from running I highly recommend it. So worth the money. I ran Tuesday and Thursday for work and my legs felt great. I did switch back to my Hoka Bondi 4 shoes. They seem to be really helping curb the calf pain I was having. Sunday I ran my 10 miles with friends in the Hokas. I had no leg pain after. I think I found my cure, at least while these shoes work. I did a pilates class on Wednesday. I remember why I was doing them once a week before. I am bringing it back into my routine for sure. The stretching involved really helps. I feel ready for my 1/2 marathon in less than 2 weeks. My plan is to run and finish. I don't have a time goal. I just want to have fun. I am really trying to just run for fun. When I start thinking time and pace in my head I start stressing out. That's why at work and on my weekend long runs I will run with whoever and don't need to push myself to the breaking point. I'm happy being out there with other runners who enjoy doing what we're doing. The reward for me is seeing the milage on my watch at the end. Also sometimes on the weekends we go for coffee and that is also a great reward for being done. I love knowing my body is stronger than it has ever been.
Noah has a kids version of the smartwatch and it counts steps. He made me laugh trying to beat my step count Sunday after I had run 10 miles. The boys always ask how my run went and Noah keeps telling me he wants to run a 5k with me. I plan on working with him this spring and doing one together.
With the random stress of every day life plus other things thrown in I am trying really hard to focus on positive things.
I almost forgot to add Scott and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary this past week. I can't believe it's been 9 years already. We have made 4 different state moves and have 3 awesome kids. It's been a crazy 9 years for sure. There's always a new adventure around the corner for us. When I look at the picture I realize how much I've aged but with age comes wisdom right? :)
