When life hits

I always think figuring out how to start a blog post is the hardest thing. There are millions of thoughts going around in my head and it's sometimes hard to figure out how to put them down. I think that is part of the reason I've only been posting about once a week. Well that and my 3 kids and 2 dogs. I'm busy.
So I haven't run since last Sunday when I did the 11 miles. Life has taken over a bit. I did manage to go to the gym twice last week to get in some cross training. I can say it wasn't a total training loss for the week. I am just starting to get a little nervous since it's 3 weeks until Rockford, which is my first 1/2 ever.
So Thursday is my normal run day and I gave it up for garage sale set up. In the end I'm glad I didn't run. My body was tired from all the stairs and being on my feet all day. Friday was spent working the garage sale. I went to bed early that night. Saturday another garage sale day. It ended up pouring rain so we closed up early. I got sick with the stomach flu around 4pm and was done for the evening. I wanted to run 6 miles Sunday but with the flu that didn't happen. My entire body was tired. Even today I'm still worn out. Of course there's not enough rest time in mom world. Today was grocery shopping (2hrs it took), laundry, and putting away the garage stuff. This on top of normal mom things. This morning I also gave in to the fact that my left ear pain has not gone away and I need to be on meds. Just add more fun to my list.
I going to take tomorrow off from running again. I am really hoping by Thursday I can at least do a short run. I'm so nervous I won't get enough training in before Rockford. I do know I need to get myself healthy again because it's not doing me or anyone else any good being down.
This bracelet is great I and I will run happy when I start back.

  1. I'm so sorry you were sick, but I know you've got this! You've trained so well, and at this point the hard work is done.
